"We are made of layers, cells, constellations."

Anaïs Nin

I am deeply drawn to exploring the intricate depths of our identity—the raw, unfiltered layers that simmer beneath the carefully constructed masks we wear in daily life. Through the evocative power of visuals, sound, and performance, I delve into these hidden realms, peeling back the superficial to reveal the vulnerable, authentic core of human existence.

My work is unapologetically raw, embracing the visceral and imperfect with a sophisticated edge that elevates the chaos into something refined and resonant. It weaves in subtle humour—wry, unexpected, and disarmingly human—to lighten the intensity without diminishing its truth. Drawing from the haunting expressiveness of butoh, with its grotesque beauty and profound physicality, I incorporate slow, deliberate movement that invites the viewer to linger in discomfort and revelation alike. At its heart lies intimate storytelling: whispered confessions, fragmented narratives, and quiet gestures that forge a profound connection, pulling the audience into a shared space of solitude and recognition.

In this interplay of elements, the work becomes a mirror—not polished, but cracked—reflecting the multifaceted, often contradictory essence of who we are when the performance of self finally falls away.

In the hushed opulence of these works, we confront the enigma of other minds—those impenetrable realms veiled behind eyes that meet ours yet withhold their truths. Like solitary figures in Baroque chambers, we circle one another in perpetual suspense, performing selves that brush against the edges of understanding but never fully merge. My collages and performances linger in this liminal space: fragmented gestures, slowed breaths, and whispered narratives that echo the ache of near-connection—the surreal beauty of knowing we are forever alone together, glimpsing only shadows of another's inner world while our own layers unfold in quiet, defiant revelation.
